Motorcycle maintenance tips

Is your motorcycle not serviced all year round? Or on the contrary, are you a maintenance expert? From the body, tires, chains, brakes, bearings, to a continuous maintenance and upkeep, your motorcycle or equipment will always be refreshed.
Tips for motorcycle maintenance! Too early, too late, too often, too little is not good! Today, I will share with you a comprehensive set of motorcycle maintenance guidelines and intervals. Whether you are a novice or an experienced motorcycle enthusiast, for the sake of loving your car, collect it!
one
engine oil
For motorcycles with all displacement, it is recommended to replace them after 1000 kilometers during the running in period.
Secondly, motorcycles with displacement ranges of 50, 100, and 110 should have their engine oil changed every 2000-3000 kilometers after the break-in period.
A motorcycle with a displacement of 125 and an oil volume of about 1 liter should be replaced every 3000 kilometers.
For medium to large displacement engines above 250, it is recommended to use fully synthetic engine oil with a replacement interval between 5000 and 8000 kilometers.
Remember, oil is the top priority for maintenance, and the engine is the heart of the motorcycle.
two
Brake pads
It is best to inspect and replace the front brake pads of a disc brake motorcycle at around 15000 kilometers.
The rear brake pads are replaced every 30000 kilometers. If the brakes are rough and the brake pads wear quickly while cycling, the front brake pads need to be replaced around 10000 kilometers.
Remember, when the thickness of the brake pads has been clearly reduced by about 2/3, they need to be replaced.
three
tyre
The tire replacement cycle is generally 20000 kilometers, and if it is made of hot melt or semi hot melt materials, it is best to replace it around 15000 kilometers.
Remember, motorcycles rely on pressure to pass corners, and tires are particularly important for safety. It is necessary to check whether the tire pressure meets the standards specified in the vehicle manual at regular intervals. The air pressure of the front wheels is generally around 200kPa, while the air pressure of the rear wheels is around 250kPa, which varies depending on the vehicle.
When the tires pass through harsh road sections, it is important to check them in a timely manner. Especially for large patterned tires such as turtle back tires, small stones should be checked.
four
Tooth disc chain
The tooth chain is used for gear shifting and is subject to impact and wear, with a replacement cycle of 2 years or 20000 kilometers.
Additionally, it is recommended to clean the chain every 200km. Do not shift to the first gear while cleaning. After cleaning, timely apply chain wax or chain oil to prevent rust. Also, tighten the chain regularly to prevent the chain from losing power or other safety accidents.
five
spark plug
Nickel spark plugs are usually replaced around 30000 kilometers.
Platinum spark plugs are best replaced after driving 40000 to 50000 kilometers.
Iridium spark plugs are made of wear-resistant material and can be replaced after driving 80000-100000 kilometers.
six
Air filter element
If you are cycling in the city, you can replace it after 5000 kilometers.
Remember, in cities with poor air quality in the north, air filters need to be cleaned every few months. Once the air filter is damaged, dust and sand will enter the cylinder through the carburetor. If blocked, it can cause poor intake and combustion.
