With different motorcycle models, there are three transmission modes: belt transmission, chain transmission, and universal joint shaft transmission. In micro motorcycles, belt transmission is commonly used as the rear transmission device, and the size of the main and driven pulleys determines the secondary reduction ratio. Generally, motorcycles use chain transmission for rear transmission. Chain drive, simple structure, few parts, convenient manufacturing and repair. There is a rear drive drive sprocket on the output shaft of the gearbox, and a driven sprocket on the rear wheel, which transmits power using corresponding sleeve roller chains. In motorcycles with high-power engines (such as the Yangtze River 750 motorcycle), its rear transmission adopts a universal joint shaft transmission and is equipped with a pair of spiral bevel gears at the rear wheels for auxiliary stage deceleration.
Walking system
The function of the walking system is to support the weight of the entire vehicle and its load, ensuring stable handling and comfortable riding. The walking system mainly includes the frame, front fork, front shock absorber, rear shock absorber, wheels, etc.
(1) Frame: It is the skeleton of the entire motorcycle, welded from steel pipes and steel plates. It connects the engine, gearbox, front fork, rear suspension, etc. to each other and has high strength and stiffness. Small motorcycles often use a spine shaped frame made of steel plates stamped and welded together. Generally, motorcycles use a welded steel pipe frame, a cradle type frame, or a combination frame of steel plate and steel pipe. Some high-power engine motorcycles use a double bracket cradle frame welded to steel pipes.
(2) Front fork: The front fork is the guiding mechanism of a motorcycle, which connects the frame and front wheels organically. The front fork is composed of front shock absorbers, upper and lower connecting plates, and square pillars. The steering column and lower connecting plate are welded together, and the steering column is installed in the front sleeve of the frame. In order to make the steering column move flexibly, axial thrust ball bearings are installed on the upper and lower journal parts of the steering column, and the left and right front shock absorbers are connected into front forks through the upper and lower connecting plates.
(3) Front and rear shock absorbers: Front shock absorbers are used to attenuate vibrations caused by front wheel impact loads and maintain smooth motorcycle driving.
The rear shock absorber and the rear rocker arm of the frame form the rear suspension device of the motorcycle. The rear suspension device is an elastic connection device between the frame and the rear wheels, which bears the load of the motorcycle, slows down, and absorbs the impact and vibration transmitted to the rear wheel due to uneven road surfaces.
(4) Wheels: The front wheels of the motorcycle are guide wheels, and the rear wheels are drive wheels, both of which are spoke type wheels. The wheels are composed of tires (inner and outer), rims, spokes, wheels, brake steel rings, bearings, and front and rear axles. The wheel rim (steel ring) is formed by rolling and welding steel plates, and the wheel hub is die-cast from aluminum alloy. The brake steel ring is embedded and die-cast into a whole, and there are flanges at both ends for installing spokes. The shape of the spokes is similar to that of a bicycle, used to connect the wheels and wheels. The wheel hub is equipped with a brake, the front wheels are also equipped with worm gears and worms for a speedometer, and the rear wheels are equipped with a driving mechanism.
