How is the exhaust volume calculated?
Cylinder diameter - The diameter of a cylinder is abbreviated as the cylinder diameter
Stroke - The piston moves back and forth in the cylinder, and the distance traveled by the piston from top dead center (TDC) to bottom dead center (BDC) is called piston stroke, abbreviated as stroke or stroke.
Taking the Honda CBR600RR in 2003 as an example, the engine form is a water-cooled four stroke parallel four cylinder 16 valve DOHC engine
Cylinder diameter (67.0mm) and stroke (42.5mm)
Calculation method for exhaust volume:
Calculate the cross-sectional area of the cylinder X stroke X number of cylinders=total exhaust volume cc
Stroke -42.5mm=4.25cm
Cylinder diameter -67.0mm=6.7cm
Cross section area -3.35 X 3.35 X 3.1416=35.25
Cross-sectional area 35.25 X stroke 4.25 X number of cylinders 4=total displacement 599cc
