The Working Process Of A Two Stroke Engine

1. The piston moves upwards and the mixed airflow enters the crankcase.
2. The piston descends to transfer the mixed air pressure to the combustion chamber, completing the first compression.
3. After the mixture reaches the cylinder, the piston rises and closes both the intake and exhaust ports. When the piston compresses the gas to the minimum volume (this is the second compression), the spark plug ignites.
4. The pressure of combustion pushes the piston downwards. When the piston reaches a certain position, the exhaust port opens first, and the exhaust gas is discharged before the intake port opens. The new mixture enters the cylinder to squeeze out the remaining exhaust gas.
At the same rotational speed, a two stroke engine burns more times than a four stroke engine, resulting in higher power. Moreover, a two stroke engine is much lighter and more compact than a four stroke engine of the same displacement. Therefore, in racing cars, a two stroke engine has a dominant advantage. However, due to the simultaneous intake and exhaust of the two stroke engine, when the engine speed is low, the exhaust port opens for a long time, A portion of the fresh mixture will be discharged from the exhaust port along with the exhaust gas, so the power is not high at bottom speed. The new two stroke engine has added some components to improve this problem, such as YAMAHA's YPVS and HONDA's ATAC SUZUKID's SAEC. Due to the accumulation of carbon generated by the combustion of engine oil and the intake and exhaust holes on the cylinder walls, the wear of a two stroke engine is much faster than that of a four stroke engine.
